Duvet Covers
Our duvet covers are made from fine natural materials in various colors, styles, and sizes.
What Is a Duvet Cover?
Duvet covers protect the duvet from dust and grime and prolong its lifespan. The duvet cover is for the duvet and the pillowcase is for the pillow. Duvet covers feel similar to sheets, given that the same materials are used in manufacturing.
They are a perfect way to keep bedding clean and beautiful. There’s no need to wash the fluffy insert – simply toss the cover in the washing machine, and you’ll be good to go.
Duvet Cover Types
Duvet covers are available in a range of fabrics:
- Linen
- Cotton
- Sateen
- Percale
Cotton and linen duvet covers are the most popular options. They are easy to care for and feel comfortable and soft to the touch.
How to Use a Duvet Cover
You can find duvet covers in every available bed size, including:
- Junior – 36” x 55”
- Twin – 55” x 79”
- US Twin - 68” x 86”
- Double - 79” x 79”
- Queen – 87” x 95”
- King – 110” x 96”
Note that the duvet size comes down to personal preference. Usually, people buy duvets (and duvet covers) at least 16 inches wider and 12 inches longer than the bed. The mattress thickness can affect the sizing of the duvet as well.
What Makes Duvet Cover Luxurious?
Quality of cotton
Quality cotton is the ultimate sign of luxury in any duvet cover. Look for 100% Egyptian cotton to get the best value for money.
The secret of premium cotton is that a smaller thread count will feel much more sophisticated than lower-quality cotton with a larger thread count. For example, cotton duvets with a 300-thread count of Egyptian cotton feel softer than a 400-threaded cotton duvet.
Types of weave
Percale and sateen are the most common types of weaves. They are equally luxurious, but each comes with a different feel. Percale is matte and plain and has a cooler vibe. On the other hand, sateen is a bit heavier, smooth, silky, and less hard-wearing.
Thread count
The higher the thread count in bedding, the more luxurious the product. Luxury duvet covers have a thread count of at least 300.
However, buyers should be careful not to go with too many threads. For example, you can find a cotton duvet cover with a thread cover of over 1,000. However, anything above 400 makes the cover less durable and heavier.
